The Large
Intestine meridian influences Geng individuals.
The Large Intestine oversees the
transportation of digestive wastes and works jointly with the Lings to control
perspiration. When healthy and well-balanced, the Large Intestine aids
organizational skills and clarity of thoughts. If imbalances have occurred in
the Large Intestine meridian, there is distress, irritability, discourage and
depression.
Energetic disturbances may involve holding
onto the past, reluctance to let go, defensiveness, compulsion to clean and
weeping.
As with every meridian, if there are
problems with the Large Intestine Qi (energy), it can trigger intense
emotions like sorry and sadness. A prolonged state of worry can cause blockages
in the Lung Qi (energy) which in turn cause Qi stagnation. Physical
symptoms of this are abdominal pains and constipation.
Health advice for
Geng individuals:
•
If constipated; eat rhubarb
•

turnips into your diet.
•
Massage your bowels.
•
Drink ginger or tangerine tea to ease stomach discomfort.
•
Fresh ginger, onion, leeks, and garlic are great for maintaining colon
health.
